Abstract Garden Meyer Studio imagePassion....Drama....Movement! I believe art should portray deep feelings and evoke the senses through a visual display of hues, shapes and design. Art is pure creation...the window of imagination, a portrait of life and my venue of personal expression.........I'm exploring different styles at the moment and happiest with a paint brush in hand and an expanse of white canvas in front of me. Although, landscapes, still life and figurative art are my main interest, I truly enjoy painting abstracts for a change of pace. I strive for creativity, style and innovation through the use of color, texture and layering. I'm excited about my current project of capturing quaint store fronts on canvas in downtown Clarksville, Tennessee. I've always enjoyed art; but, my artistic nature was truly inspired in 1972 by my first instructor, a Professor of Art at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She opened my eyes to a whole new world of art. At that time I was a mother of two little girls and my husband was in the USAF. For the next 20 years life & family took over my unrequited love for art. We traveled from military base to military base and in between those moves I attended Miami Dade College for studio arts. My daughters are grown now and lots of grandchildren fill my life a long with strong faith and my never ending thirst to do just one more painting. My most admired artists are Monet, Manet, Cassatt, Degas, and Picasso. I hope you enjoy my eclectic style.
